Owner-Director Luke Richards came to landscape gardening after working as a tree surgeon for his family firm; five years with the Royal Engineers on the bomb disposal & search and fixed-site intelligence teams; and a further five years as a London Fire Brigade firefighter. Suffice to say, Terra Firma’s clients are quite literally in safe hands.

Terra Firma is a proudly independent business, whose specialists have served the firm since its formation in 1985, passing on expertise and ownership from one generation to the next, from master to apprentice. Owned by Luke since 2017, he and his team have in-depth knowledge of the unique challenges and opportunities of a wide variety of gardens and housing stock, from urban to suburban; heritage areas to brownfield sites; Victorian terraced housing to Edwardian villas.
